Ernesto Chahoud is releasing a new compilation of tracks from Ethiopia’s seventies music scene, this February via BBE.

Taitu: Soul-fuelled stompers from 1970s Ethiopia includes 25 tracks spanning r&b, rock, jazz, funk, and soul.

The album which is divided into two parts – “Ethiopian soul clappers” and “Ethiopian soul stompers” – features well known musicians, like “godfather of Ethio jazz” Mulatu Astatke and “Ethiopian Elvis” Alemayehu Eshete, alongside lesser known artists.

Taitu: Soul-fuelled stompers from 1970s Ethiopia is out 16th February on BBE.
