Victoria Hesketh bursts back onto the scene as Little Boots for her second full-length album Nocturnes, which will released by The Vinyl Factory and newly relaunched On Repeat Records on 6th May 2013.
Building on her critically acclaimed 2009 debut Hands, the dance-pop songstress has produced another powerful record of irresistible hooks and stunning songwriting that celebrates 90s house, seventies disco and futuristic electronics while maintaining the magic of classic pop.
Produced by DFA Records’ co-founder Tim Goldsworthy, Hesketh is also joined by a high profile cast that includes Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Andy Butler of Hercules And The Love Affair. Furthermore, written and recorded around the world in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Stockholm, Nocturnes fuses her influences with ease, creating a collection of perfect pop melodies set against faultless beats and synths.
The record’s debt to club culture goes beyond its collaborators, celebrating the years Hesketh has spent since her last release DJing all over the world at many of clubland’s most esteemed nights. As she describes; the record is called Nocturnes because it is “an album indebted to the night”.
Nocturnes will be releases as a double gatefold vinyl limited to 1000 copies worldwide.
The release follows a very special teaser produced by The Vinyl Factory for Record Store Day. “Nocturnal Versions” collects two extended edits from the new release, including one of the album’s undoubted standouts “Broken Record”.
