New documentary charts the rise of amapiano

Featuring Major League DJz, Felo Le Tee, DBN Gogo, and more.

The BBC has released a new documentary exploring the rise of amapiano, called This Is Amapiano.

The 25-minute film follows the genre’s rise from local communities in South Africa, to clubs and parties across the globe.

It features some of amapiano’s most important DJs and producers, including Major League DJz, Felo Le Tee, DBN Gogo, and Daliwonga.

This Is Amapiano will stream on BBC iPlayer until July 2023.
