Alongside elements of blues, soul, and hip-hop.

Moor Mother is releasing a new album, called Jazz Codes, via Anti- this July.

The record is inspired by the poetry book of the same name, which includes dedications to jazz and blues musicians including Woody Shaw, Amina Claudine Myers, and Mary Lou William.

Across Jazz Codes’ 18 tracks Moor Mother touches on elements of poetry, free jazz, blues, soul, and hip-hop.

The album also features contributions from artists including Irreversible Entanglements, Mary Lattimore, Jason Moran, Yung Morpheus, Justmadnice, Orion Sun and more.

It follows Moor Mother’s last solo album, Black Encyclopedia of the Air.
