The winner takes it all.

The 2022 shortlist for the Mercury Prize has been unveiled.

Created by Jon Webster and Robert Chandler in 1992, the Mercury Prize is an annual award given to the best album released in the UK by a British or Irish act.

This year’s shortlist features Fergus McCreadie, Gwenno, Harry Styles, Jessie Buckley & Bernard Butler, Joy Crookes, Kojey Radical, Little Simz, Nova Twins, Sam Fender, Self Esteem, Wet Leg, and Yard Act.

While all twelve artists will be given a special trophy recognising their nomination, only the winner will take home the £25,000 cash prize.

The awards show will be held at London’s Eventim Apollo on the 8th September — head over to the Apollo website to pick up tickets.
