Help save the Liverpool station.

Liverpool radio station Melodic Distraction has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for a new studio, and community space.

Having worked out of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle area for almost four years, Melodic Distraction’s landlord has decided to develop the land, leaving the station with just a month’s notice.

The station has subsequently launched a crowdfunding campaign in order to afford to move into the Tapestry building in Liverpool’s Fabric District. Its new space will be comprised of two shipping containers hosting both the station and a new community-focused coffee shop, plus an outdoor area with seating that can be used to host events.

“In a time when Liverpool is at high-risk of losing a wealth of creative spaces and cultural meeting points due to Covid-19, gentrification and other encroaching factors, we’re determined to help push back against these forces – giving the city a new community-focused music space to enjoy,” shares the station.

Hoping to reach a goal of £35k to cover the cost of relocating, Melodic Distraction will also be supported by Dr. Martens on a range of fundraising activities including a vinyl raffle – featuring donations from artists including Crazy P, Yousef, and Greg Wilson.
