Inspired by the works of Virginia Woolf.

Following 2015’s Sleep, Max Richter will release new album Three Worlds: Music From Woolf Works on vinyl via Deutsche Grammophon.

The LP is lifted from Richter’s score for Wolf Works, an award-winning Royal Ballet production by Wayne McGregor, which is inspired by the works of the Virginia Woolf.

The scores draws on three of Woolf’s novels: Mrs Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves. It also uses the only surviving recording of Woolf’s voice and the farewell note she left her husband before committing suicide in 1941. The work is described as “a vast palette of sounds — from solo instrumental and orchestral episodes, to electronic textures and music for wordless soprano.”

Due on 10 March, pre-order the album from Rough Trade.
