Exploring abandonment and unaddressed childhood trauma.

Little Simz has shared a new film, titled I Love You, I Hate You, created in partnership with WeTransfer’s WeBody platform.

Created by Little Simz with writer Caroline Adeyemi, I Love You, I Hate You focuses on repressed memories, specifically “interpreting the relationship between Little Simz’s absent father and herself.”

Simz describes it as a study of abandonment that ultimately explores how unaddressed trauma can continue to haunt one throughout their life.

The 22-minute film features Simz alongside It’s A Sin’s Shaniqua Okwok, C.J. Beckford, and Sonia Ajuwa.

I Love You, I Hate You takes its name from the track of the same title from Simz’ latest album, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.
