Joni Mitchell’s Love Has Many Faces gets first ever vinyl release on 8xLP

For Mitchell’s 75th birthday.

Joni Mitchell’s collection of songs, Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, a Ballet, Waiting to Be Danced, will be released on vinyl for the first time, via Rhino Records on 2nd November.

Originally released as a CD set in 2014, the collection of 53 songs were compiled by Mitchell from the 17 albums she has released across her career.

“I wanted the music to feel like a total work, a new work,” shared Mitchell. “No matter what I did, though, at that length, it remained merely a collection of songs … Then, suddenly, scenes began to hook up. Then series began to form.”

Mitchell spent 18 months on the project with the aim of compiling her most romantic works into one release – a difficult task given that her career spans over 40 years.

Mitchell describes Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, a Ballet, Waiting to Be Danced as “four ballets or a four-act ballet – a quarter.”

The limited-edition box set will contain 8xLP, and is the first time that the collection has been pressed to vinyl.
