With support from Can’s Malcolm Mooney.
Jane Weaver will release her sixth studio album, Modern Kosmology, on vinyl via Fire Records.
Despite boasting a discography spanning three decades, the project is the first time Weaver has taken uninterrupted recording time to finish an album start-to-finish and was recorded using all-analogue vintage machinery.
“Modern Kosmology is the result of a scientist of popular song gone rogue,” says the label. “Here we find a model student of second-hand krautrock, female punk, hard-subbed new-wave, synthesiser skip-finds and unpronounceable worldly feminine pop who’s finally reached her eureka moment.”
The album features Can’s Malcolm Mooney plus a squad of Mancunian drummers and guitarist to punctuate and expand Weaver’s synth-heavy sound. You can hear the lead single ‘Slow Motion’ above.
As well as regular vinyl, the LP will be released as a limited edition with a deluxe metallic print sleeve, including a fold out poster. Due on 19th May, place pre-orders here.
