The video is taken from an upcoming documentary focusing on Detroit producers.

Fans of J Dilla can find never-before-seen footage and rare music from the beloved producer in the upcoming documentary, The Unseen — A Detroit Beat Tape, which digs into the Motor City’s rich history of hip-hop producers.

The film features footage of Detroit production legends such as J Dilla, Quelle Chris, Dakim, Nick Speed, House Shoes. Most interestingly though, it includes newly unearthed footage from VHS tapes made by audiovisual archivist Justin Kovar in the mid-90s. Those videos were used by director Gus Sutherland and they’re on display in the a clip for J Dilla’s unreleased ‘Ghetto Wish’.

Meanwhile veteran beatsmith Ta’Raach’s incredible soundtrack to the film features music from many of its subjects with the unreleased Dilla track standing as an obvious highlight.

Watch the video for ‘Ghetto Wish’ below and watch the film 3 February via LOVETURL.
