ILM returns to the capital with a truck load of goodies in tow.
Returning to its spiritual home, Independent Label Market pitches up at Old Spitalfields Market in London this Saturday for a day of hand to mouth record trading and vinyl exclusives hydrated, as ever, by the neighbouring London Brewers’ Market.
As well as hosting a fine line up of labels, which this time round includes the likes of Brainfeeder (for the first time), Sub Pop, Ninja Tune and Drag City, labels will be briging a summer picnic hamper’s worth of rarities, limited vinyl and merchandise only available on the day. Excited to be guest editing this year’s summer event, we’ve picked out a few bits below for you to track down.
These include exclusive merchandise from Björk’s digital exhibition, a deluxe limited edition of Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve’s debut The Soft Bounce on Phantasy complete with mirror gatefold designed by Erol Alkan and a whole wardrobe of rare t-shirts from Sup Pop, who are giving away a copy of their Hardly Art comps free with every purchase.
Other choice bits include new releases from Afro-jazz outfit Sunburst and astral travellers The Pyramids on Strut, some lovely little 45 adapters from Mukatsuku and a limited-edition glow in the dark 12” EP of Kraftwerk covers on Sonic Cathedral.
Also keep a look out for limited edition dubplates cut for Strut, Numero Group, BBE, Ninja Tune, Rhythm Section, Wah Wah 45s and On the Corner by the good people at The Carvery.
Independent Label Market takes place on Saturday 23rd July at Old Spitalfields Market from 11am, with DJs and drinks throughout the day. Click here for more info.
