After first connecting via radio.

Punk icon Iggy Pop and Belgian violinist and composer Catherine Graindorge have collaborated on a new four-track EP, titled The Dictator and released via Glitterbeat.

The pair first connected after Pop played two of Graindorge’s tracks on his BBC Radio 6 Music show.

The violinist followed up with an email asking if Pop would like to work on some music together — something, she says, of a shot to nothing.

“Catherine, I would love to make a track,” came the reply.

The result is a four-track EP, across which Pop lends his gnarled, radio jockey-style monologues to Graindorge’s shimmering strings and atmospheric electronic bedding.
