Along with elements of Afrobeat and highlife.

Producer and bassist Huw Marc Bennett is releasing a new album, titled Tresilian Bay, via Albert’s Favourites this September.

The album originally started out as a live session at London’s Total Refreshment Centre studios with Chelsea Carmichael on sax, Rosie Turton on trombone, Shirley Tetteh on guitar, and Jake Long on drums, with Bennett on bass.

Taking inspiration from artists including Tim Maia, Augustus Pablo and Idris Muhammed, Tresilian Bay touches on elements of Nigerian Afrobeat, Ghanaian highlife and south London electronica, all with a touch of Welsh psychedelia.

Tresilian Bay follows on from his contributions to the collaborative Susso project’s Keira album, released on Soundway in 2016.
