A new documentary exploring the history of d’n’b and jungle, called The Rest Is History, is touring UK cinemas this August.

Following the genres’ meteoric rise, the documentary charts a journey from illegal raves to d’n’b and jungle’s mainstream popularity.

In doing so, it weaves together interviews with pioneers and innovators including Jumpin’ Jack Frost, Ray Keith, Dillinja, Ragga Twins, and more.

The film is directed by Peter Costigan, who fell in love with – and started DJing – jungle and d’n’b while at university. After conceiving the idea for the documentary in 2015, Costigan spent three years digging through archives and interviewing founders to produce the final results.

Ultimately, The Rest Is History is “a story of rave, resistance and resilience.”

It’s currently streaming on demand, as well as showing across UK cinemas for the remaining of August.
