Charif Megarbane’s Marzipan drops this July.

Habibi Funk has announced its first release from a contemporary artist.

Charif Megarbane’s Marzipan sees the Beirut multi-instrumental producer, also known for his work as Cosmic Analog Ensemble, dive into his ‘Lebrary’ style. A term coined by Megarbane himself, it refers to “a vision of Lebanon and Mediterranean expressed via the kaleidoscopic sonics of library music”.

Hear the first song, “Souk El Ahad”, below.

Reflecting on his creative process, Megarbane describes his creative process as “a very spontaneous, playful, and diary-like approach and workflow…I trust my instinct because instinct is based on experience.”

Marzipan is available to pre-order now ahead of its July 14 release date.
