“We expect to tear the roof off the sucker.”
Legendary funk musician George Clinton has announced his first new album since 2008’s George Clinton and His Gangsters of Love. The LP will be released on Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder.
Announcing the news during an interview with KCRW yesterday, where Clinton also performed live alongside Parliament and Thundercat, he revealed that the LP is due “sometime next year.”
On what to expect from the new album, he said, “As always, we expect to tear the roof off the sucker.” Let’s hope there’s a special vinyl edition too.

Last year Clinton collaborated with new super-group WOKE – Flying Lotus, Shabazz Palaces, and Thundercat – on their first single.
