20,000 records went up in flames.

Vinyl is great, except in the case of a flood or fire – in which case you’re screwed.

Late on Saturday in Port Townsend, Washington, a garage fire wiped out a huge record collection, worth $100,000 according to its owners.

Firefighters arrived to find the 500 square foot detached garage completely engulfed in flames. Fortunately there were no injuries. Unfortunately the collection was not insured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious. [via PT Leader]
