It takes inspiration from T.S. Eliot and Richard Brautigan.

US composer Matthew Robert Cooper, aka Eluvium, will release (Whirring Marvels In) Consensus Reality on May 12, via Temporary Residence.

Inspired by T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land and Richard Brautigan’s All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace, the album deals with “humankind’s need for meaning,” and “interactions with machines”. Eluvium conducted and recorded it remotely with members of the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), Golden Retriever, and the Budapest Scoring Orchestra.

You can hear two tracks from the album–”Escapement” and “Swift Automations”–now.

(Whirring Marvels In) Consensus Reality is available for pre-order on ‘wildfire’ coloured vinyl.
