The glory days.
Nostalgic for the Madchester days? Most likely you were born in the wrong decade or country but now you can experience the magic of the mythical Haçienda nightclub thanks to Blog 51.
Named after the club’s Factory Records catalogue number, the blog features an archive of 73 downloadable sets recorded live between 1983 and 1997. Understandably, the majority of sets are by residents Graeme Park and Mike Pickering but you can also listen back to historic performances by Frankie Knuckles, The Stones Roses, Laurent Garnier, Sasha & Digweed, Lil Louis, Pete Tong and plenty more.
To add to the experience, each set has been annotated with firsthand accounts by record collector and Haçienda regular Andrew Mckim. Head here to check out the selection.
Recently, two Haçienda residents – Dave Haslam and Buckley Boland – sold their entire record collections.
