With a course focusing on radio, DJing, production, and management.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Jaguar has partnered with in-school music education platform FutureDJs to launch a new initiative to help more young women, trans, and non-binary people enter the music industry, called Future1000.

Aiming to redress gender imbalances within the music industry, the scheme will offer 1000 people under 18 access to training, tools and mentorship to help support their music goals/careers.

“My own experience of coming up in the industry, and often being the only girl in the room, has motivated me to make a change for others from similar backgrounds, and I hope that Future1000 helps to show young girls, trans and non-binary people what they’re capable of,” shares Jaguar.

The 12-part, online course will focus on topics including radio presenting, DJing, production, and management.

Future1000 will run from May 2021 to December 2021.
