Spanning minimal wave, industrial, post punk, and experimental electronic sounds.

Glasgow-based techno and industrial label Contort Yourself is releasing a second volume of unearthed cassette recordings from the 1980s this October.

Over two discs, 80s Underground Cassette Culture: Volume 2 draws together tracks spanning minimal wave, industrial, post punk, and experimental electronic sounds.

The compilation aims to deliver a sense of “wanton abandonment; burnt-out artists peddling a punk profanity, marginalised musicians spitting on the establishment and industry,” a note from the label says.

As the name suggests, this is the second instalment in the series, the first edition of which was released in 2017.

Pre-orders are available from Phonica now, ahead of a 3rd October release date. Check out the tracklist and artwork below.
