From Drive-composer Cliff Martinez and director Steven Soderbergh.

The 2011 Original Soundtrack for Contagion is being released on vinyl for the first time, by Real Gone Music.

Its OST, from frequent collaborators Soderbergh and Martinez, is particularly noteworthy for the way it was created: “Soderbergh radically recut the film three different times, causing Martinez to adjust the score on the fly, starting with a more conventional score indebted to thrillers like Marathon Man and The French Connection, then moving in a more dream-like, Tangerine Dream direction, before settling on a sound that incorporated orchestral and electronic timbres.”

Limited to 1,200 copies, the release also features behind-the-scenes film production stills from Contagion.
