Celestial ambient pastures to get lost in.

Japanese multi-instrumentalist Chihei Hatakeyama is releasing a new album, titled Late Spring, via Gearbox Records this April.

Taking inspiration from the circular beauty of landscapes and changing seasons, Hatakeyama designed the album to conjure the feeling of archival film.

While recording the album, Hatakeyama stripped back his production methods, using only one kind of instrument for each track — be it synthesizer or guitar, for example.

Late Spring follows Gearbox’s release of Don Cherry’s rare Cherry Jam EP.
