brilliant corners has launched a new online audio shop, called Idle Moments.

Speaking about the inspirations behind Idle Moments founders Aneesh and Amit Patel share: “When all the bars, restaurants and nightclubs were ordered to shut, we wanted to make some of the key ingredients of what is normally on offer at brilliant corners and GIANT STEPS available for people to enjoy in their own homes.

The Idle Moments shop now sells audio equipment new and old with a focus on classic pieces we’ve had first-hand experience with, as well as some new equipment which we recommend. We’ve also listed our favourite wines, made by winemakers that are either pioneers of the natural wine movement or their most accomplished disciples, plus sake, mezcal and other bottles we’ve come to love over the years. There will also be a curated selection of records and new releases from our friends in the community.

All of our previous projects have involved us bringing together aspects of audio, music, and hospitality, and the Idle Moments shop is another way of sharing that experience. It is still a work in progress, but our overarching aim is to make the shop a place where people can make new discoveries and find something both useful and inspiring for their home.

The name Idle Moments comes from a beautiful piece of music written and performed by Grant Green, first introduced to us by Rob Luft when he hosted a Played Twice at brilliant corners back in 2017.”
