Championing inclusivity for local artists to hone their skills without financial barriers.

DJ and producer Batu has launched a free to access studio in Bristol, called First Light Studio.

First Light Studio aims to function as an inclusive place for local artists to enter the music industry, and hone their skills without financial barriers.

“Privately renting a studio is an expense that is prohibitive for a lot of up and coming artists, and there should be more access for free,” explains Batu.

As part of the studio’s launch, Batu has enlisted Bristol-based artists including Hodge, Elder Island, and Mix Nights to host a series of workshops at the space in July.

First Light Studio is supported by Dr. Martens.
