Bang & Olufsen has announced a collaboration with Irish artist Fin DAC, which sees a reimagining of the Beoplay A9 speaker as art.

The Beoplay A9 can be used for wired play from external systems but also features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Google Assistant, Airplay 2 and Chromecast solutions. In addition to the product’s traditional design, Fin DAC has “adorned the speaker with a powerful masked woman rendered in his signature spray paint and glitch style”.

“Beoplay A9 provides the ideal canvas for an artist as bold as Fin DAC, whose unique urban aesthetic brings a fresh take on this timeless Bang & Olufsen design form,” explains David Morris, Bang & Olufsen’s Head of Marketing. “We’re thrilled to see the unique relationship between the visual and sonic arts epitomised on one of our most iconic speakers.”

The Fin DAC X Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A9 speakers will be extremely limited, with only 30 available. Each one will be embellished with a decal of Fin DAC’s signature and a collector’s limited edition print of the speaker’s artwork.

You can view the speaker at the StART Art Fair in London’s Saatchi Gallery between October 12 and 16. Attendants at the exhibition will get access to a QR code to pre-order the unit, which retails at £3,999.
