Follow Victor Kiswell as he hunts for gems in Egypt.
Trading exclusively in jaw-dropping rarities, Victor Kiswell is something of a cult dealer. To keep his stock fresh, Kiswell regularly globe trots in search of hidden treasures. Digging for him, is both a passion and a job.
This first episode of the Vinyl Bazaar series, produced by Spicee.com, follows Kiswell as he travels to Cairo in search of dusty records from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80 – a period of extravagance and glamour in Egypt.
On the trail for Oum Kalthoum, Warda, Karim Shukry and records on Sono Cairo, Kiswell is drawn to output that mixes traditional folk with synths, funk or Latin-influences. Visiting old shops, market and fleamarkets, this is a man on a mission. (Disclaimer: Excuse for the reference to “vinyls”.)
