£100 to spend. Ten minutes to spend it. One wall of vinyl to spend it on. This is the Record Sweep.
Our crate digging game-show gives contestants ten minutes to spend one hundred pounds at the monster record emporium Vinyl Pimp. Previous contestants include T.E.E.D, Luke Vibert, Jen Long, Andrés, Gilles Peterson, Eats Everything and Fatima.
Our next contestant is Motor City Drum Ensemble, one of the most interesting voices to emerge in contemporary house in recent years. A series of killer singles between 2007 and 2009 – notably the ‘Raw Cuts’ series, released on his own MCDE imprint – quickly propelled Plessow into a fabled position in the house landscape. He shines equally as a selector and as we learnt in our super in-depth interview with the German: he’s a serious crate digger.
