Breaking boundaries before breaking even.

Boiler Room’s latest instalment of Collections, in conjunction with Dekmantel’s Selectors festival, takes Andy Votel as its subject. Over two hours the NTS/BBC radio show host pops the trunk on his treasure trove of curious sounds and niche finds.

The video, which you can watch above in full, also delves into the workings of his reissue label Finders Keepers. With slogans such as “Breaking boundaries before breaking even” and “Making Global Music Local” the FK modus operandi has always been an intriguing one, something we explored in depth in this feature celebrating ten years of the label.

Recently, Boiler Room visited Luaka Bop’s Yale Evelev in his NYC home to go through his 7,000-record strong collection.
