VF Live x Rare Groove: Pixie (at Ace Hotel Kyoto)

Vinyl selections across the dance spectrum from the ’80s onward.

We’re heading to Kyoto for the latest instalment of our VF Live x Rare Groove series.

The Osaka-based record store brings us to Kyoto’s Ace Hotel for a special set from Rare Groove staff member and DJ Pixie.

With a set filled with dance music from the ’80s until the present day, Pixie gives us an insight into the music she recommends in her time at Rare Groove.

Many of the songs are reminiscent of music played at Rare Groove’s Friday night parties at piopiko, every Friday. “These are sometimes played here on Fridays, so you might be able to get a feel for the atmosphere here,” Pixie explains.
