Because every record collection has a story.

Home Grown is our series profiling you lot and your excellent record collections. Taking our cue from the brilliant submissions to the #VFRecordCollections thread on Instagram, we want to share a little of your hard-earned love for vinyl with the world.

Each week, we’ll be profiling a different collector from around the world and finding out what makes them tick. Want in? Send us a pic and a few words about your collection to [email protected]

How long have you been collecting for? 35 years.

What part of your set-up are you most proud of? All of it!

What record(s) are you most proud of?

That’s a difficult one, but if I had to narrow it down, I’d say my Roy Ayers albums.

What does your record collection mean to you?

Everything. It reflects my character, my tastes – it’s all an extension of my personality. I collect old, new, rare, popular, you name it. Some might say I’m addicted… well they don’t call it “black crack” for nothing. I love the artwork, the physical and analogue nature of vinyl; you just don’t get the same warm fuzzy feeling when you press play on an mp3.
