Waajeed launches Detroit music centre, Underground Music Academy

Waajeed is creating a new Detroit community music hub, called Underground Music Academy.

Underground Music Academy will launch during 2021 with a series of free online tutorials catering to all skill levels.

Its physical space is due to open in 2022, and will offer business workshops, internships, job placements, as well as opportunities for local and international gig bookings.

Named after Underground Resistance, the space aims “to build the future leaders of independent electronic music.”

Waajeed has launched a crowdfunding campaign to cover the cost of finishing construction and renovation plans in the space.
