14. Francois Tusques & Don Cherry

La Maison Fille Du Soleil

(Cacophonic)

Andy Votel’s Finders Keepers offshoot Cacophonic have come up with a real gem here, unearthing a rare Don Cherry’s release originally conceived as part of an exhibition by modernist architect Le Corbusier in 1964. And true to the original, they’ve also produced two versions– a standard replica of the two-fold wrap around sleeve and a hand-printed edition of just 20 copies mimicking the pre-release gift edition which was distributed amongst group members at the time and of which just three are known to exist. The hand-printed artwork, ink written titles and facsimile notes are a joy to behold.
