Wonder Where We Land

(Young Turks)

Tribal mask wearer Aaron Jerome continues to explore a Central/South American aesthetic with his newest SBTRKT release. The artwork to Wonder Where We Land is directly inspired by Mexican artist Pedro Linares. Spurred on by hallucinations of hybrid, fantastical animals, Linares created distorted sculptures of strange creatures, or what he termed alebrijes, which is the muse for the mythical beast that sits proudly on this record sleeve. And the dreamlike beast even comes to life on a bonus 12″ zoetrope animated picture disc, exclusive to the limited edition package that also includes seven cuts not on the standard edition.
