Jeff Mills

A defining name in techno, straight out of the Motor City’s second wave of producers. Mills and former Parliament bass player ‘Mad’ Mike Banks created Underground Resistance, a political musical collective that embraced revolutionary Public Enemy style rhetoric. Mills later removed himself from the militancy of UR, instead following a solo career and racking up an international reputation for his stripped-down, industrial sound.

Computer World

Computer World was my favourite. It was this one because it really emphasised the era in which it was released. It looked towards the then forthcoming turning of the new century and the type of things we’ll be engaged with.
