Awesome Tapes From Africa return with the hugely anticipated official reissue of Ata Kak’s Obaa Sima, a cassette AWFA’s main man Brian Shimkovotz picked up at a roadside stall in Ghana thirteen years ago and which was the first Awesome Tape to make the blog back in 2006. One of 50 original copies, Brian’s copy of Obaa Sima has been painstakingly restored for a ready-made audience blown away by the Africa Shakedown edit of ‘Daa Nyinaa’ a few years back. This tape is the real deal.
