Nippon Columbia has announced that it will reissue the fourth LP from Japanese composer, saxophonist and producer Yasuaki Shimizu.
Originally released in 1982 on Better Days, Kakashi has been long out-of-print, fetching big sums on the second hand market. The item has been reissued on CD several times but this marks its first ever vinyl re-release.
An album with its foundation in a minimal dub approach, fans of last year’s killer reissue of Utakata No Hibi will be visiting familiar territory here, not least because Shimizu was the architect behind experimental rock band Mariah. As RA notes, Shimizu’s production can also be heard on Dip In The Pool, who were recently given a 12″ release on Music From Memory.
