A minimal masterpiece that influenced a generation of electronic music producers.

Originally released together in 1974, this box set collects all four parts of Steve Reich’s Drumming suite, alongside his Six Pianos and Music For Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organs on vinyl for the first time in over forty years.

Widely recognised as one of the foundational stepping-stones between minimal composition and electronic dance music, Drumming draws on Ghanaian drum rituals and Balinese gamelan ceremonies, drawing new ideas around composition and practice into the western avant-garde canon that would ultimately effect the form of and serialist evolutions of electronic music.

Intensely modern – a nod to just how definitive these recordings have become – both Six Pianos and Music For Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organs were also released in the same 3LP set by Deutsche Grammophon in 1974, here reproduced on vinyl in full for the first time.

This limited triple LP box set is hand-numbered and includes a 28-page booklet. Click here to order your copy and listen to extracts from the release below.
