Event features day-long stream from the band, competitions and artwork.
Since releasing A Moon Shaped Pool, Radiohead have delivered masterful music videos, emotional live performances and artist interpretation videos of LPs songs. Now, as FACT reports, the Oxford band will extend the momentum with a new worldwide event taking place this Friday.
Announcing the news on their site, the band write: A unique Radiohead event taking place on Friday June 17 at record stores globally. Features an exclusive day long audio stream from the band, competitions, instructional artworks and more.
See here for list of participating stores, which in London includes Banquet Records and both Rough Trade locations.
While details of the nature of the stream were not initially clear, Banquet Records suggest it will feature a unique broadcast of a Radiohead live performance and an audio stream of music curated by the band.
They also details some of the other events on offer at banquet, which include limited edition screenprints from artist Stanley Donwood’s A Moon Shaped Pool series, a selection of unique figurines used in the making of the Radiohead video Burn The Witch directed by Chris Hopewell and three 35mm celluloid prints of the Paul Thomas Anderson directed video ‘Daydreaming’ in a film canister.
Banquet have also shared pictures on Twitter of vinyl copies of A Moon Shaped Pool that will finally be available to purchase from Friday.
