Legendary Cologne techno outlet brings its 20th birthday party to the Amsterdam Dance Event.

From humble beginnings on Cologne’s leafy Werderstraße, Kompakt have spent the last twenty years consolidating their position as Germany’s most influential techno label/record shop operation.

The institution that music journalist and author Simon Reynolds once described as having “contributed more than any other to Germany’s dominance of electronic dance music this decade [the 2000s]”, the Kompakt roadshow will end a year of celebrations at Amsterdam’s annual electronic music festival ADE.

With a tour bus packed full of vinyl, in-store specials and the odd label artist (expect in-store sets from DJ Koze, Superpitcher and more), the Kompakt express will pitch up at Oz. studio in Amsterdam’s red-light district on the 16th October for four days, ahead of their big end of term bash on the 19th.
