German artist to give special performance of locked groove piece bausatz noto ∞.

Carsten Nicolai is to bring his multi-turntable vinyl installation bausatz noto ∞ to Tokyo in December. Using a selection of locked groove records produced by The Vinyl Factory for Nicolai’s acclaimed solo exhibition at Brewer Street Car Park earlier this year, the installation allows visitors to mix combinations of the coloured discs to build their own compositions across four turntables.

Open at art Front gallery in Tokyo’s Shibuya-ku district from 4th December until 23rd December, bausatz noto ∞ will also feature a rare live performance from Nicolai, who will take to the turntables himself at 7pm on the opening night. Click here for more info.

bausatz noto ∞ was exhibited in London this summer as part of The Vinyl Factory-presented unicolor installation at Brewer Street Car Park. We caught up with Nicolai for an interview about the show, which you can read in full here.

Twelve multi-coloured 10″ records from bausatz noto ∞ have been collected in one stunning vinyl box set, which you can order now from The Vinyl Factory online shop.
