Amazing tapes on vinyl for the first time ever.

Having ticked off American and German cultures on tape, Vinyl On Demand has unveiled the 8LP box set for British Cassette Culture: Recordings 1975-1984.

Surveying the outermost regions of the DIY British electronic underground of the early ’80s, the set compiles casssette recordings by Those Little Aliens, Stephen Cadman, Ron Berry, Kevin Harrison, Carl Matthews and more.

Aside from The Legendary Pink Dots and their brilliant neo-psychedelic album Premonition, most of these experimenters are little known, making this compilation all the more exciting. Credit to VOD for once again digging out an unprecedented haul of tapes.

The exhaustive eight LP set also includes two 7″ records, all housed in a canvas box with foil embossed printing. The edition of 333 includes individually numbered inserts. All the material is on vinyl for the first time ever. Out today (27 July), order your copy from Boomkat.
