The third release on his own La Vida label.

Detroit veteran Andrés (aka DJ Dez) is to follow up last year’s ‘Believin’ EP with a three-track 12″ of soulful, disco-flecked house, titled ‘Mighty Tribe’.

Taking in tropicalia and piano-led melodies, you can listen to clips of the EP over at the Fit Distribution website. No release date has been confirmed as yet.

Previously a live DJ for Slum Village (he was introduced to the group by mutual friend J Dilla in 2000), Andrés has been releasing solo singles for over a decade, mostly on Moodymann’s labels – first KDJ, then Mahogani Music.

‘Mighty Tribe’ is the third offering from Andrés’ own La Vida imprint, which began life in 2012. [via RA]
