The Vinyl Factory went to the first ever Independent Label Market in Glasgow and uncovered an alphabet of vinyl (and related…) delights.

Nestled in the bosom of the film set-worthy Barras Market behind Glasgow’s iconic Barrowlands music hall, the first ever Glasgow Independent Label Market drew crowds of all ages and sizes to the BAaD earlier this month for a day of market-style trading. Collecting Scotland’s finest independent record labels from Glasgow institution Optimo Music to Edwyn Collins’ AED to those at the vanguard of Glasgow’s burgeoning underground electronic music scene, there was a veritable alphabet of goodies to get to grips with. As the ample local lubrication abounded, The Vinyl Factory scoured the market floor to gather a basket full of letters and capture the frivolity of the occasion. (Note: Don’t get angry, some are just more tenuous than others…)

In the build up to the event, we put together our Independent Record Label guide to Glasgow, which you can read here.

The Vinyl Factory also dropped in on electronic music institution Rubadub Music & Technology to find out their top 5 Sound of Glasgow, which you can watch here.
