Show marks only the second ever performance of These New Puritans expanded live set up.
Ever-evolving UK trio These New Puritans have announced they will follow the ground-breaking performance of their 2013 album Field Of Reeds at London’s Barbican in April this year with an appearance at Amsterdam’s esteemed electronic music festival The Rest Is Noise.
On the bill alongside electronic innovators such as Holly Herndon, Workshop producer Kassem Mosse, Bristol outfit Emptyset and Austrian composer and guitarist Fennesz, These New Puritans will be themselves joined by conductor André de Ridder (who has worked with Gorillaz) and Berlin-based experimental orchestra Stargaze to expand on the meticulous sound of Field Of Reeds with several new tracks.
The initial performance of These New Puritans Expanded coincided with The Vinyl Factory’s release of Magnetic Field, a unique two-track EP featuring two cannibalised reworks utilising unused field recordings and samples from the original album, one by TNP’s own Jack Barnett, the other a rare outing for Bark Psychosis.
You can read more about the release and the accompanying installation, presented by The Vinyl Factory at 180 The Strand, here.
These New Puritans will take to the stage at Amsterdam’s The Rest Is Noise on Friday 19th September. Click here for more details.
