One-off show at Southbank Centre due alongside The Vinyl Factory release of Creed’s new LP Mind Trap.

Turner prize winning artist Martin Creed is to accompany the major exhibition of his work at London’s Hayward Gallery with a one-off evening of ‘talk, song and dance’ at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. Applying himself to the fundamentals of ballet, Creed, his live band and five dancers will work together on stage to deconstruct, rewind and rewire the basic positions with the trademark sense of fun so central to his more sedate installations.

Given the title Work No.1020, the show has even compelled The Guardian to describe it as “a beguiling collision between system and spontaneity, a dismantling of seriousness” and speaks to Creed’s continuing fascination with human movement, as explored in the video work for his track ‘You Return’, taken from his new LP Mind Trap.

The artist and latter-day musician’s latest LP, Mind Trap is currently available for pre-order at The Vinyl Factory online shop.

Martin Creed: Ballet Work No. 1020 will be performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on 8th April. Click here for more details.
