Urban Outfitters is pressing its own series of vinyl compilations

Retailer enlists Domino Recording Co. for a bit of credibility.

Not content with claiming to be the “world’s number one vinyl seller” (read: on the high street), fashion chain Urban Outfitters have launched a new series of compilation samplers with Domino Recording Co. featuring “the best new + upcoming bands you need to know”.

For the first instalment that means music from Domino mainstays like Blood Orange, Real Estate, and Hot Chip as well as the label’s emerging roster like Petite Noir, Alex G and Porches.

Given that all the artists on the comp are signed to Domino, what this essentially seems to amount to is a label sampler that will put Domino front and centre on Urban Outfitters’ record shelves across the world.
