Third Man Records gears up to open “most incredible vinyl pressing plant in the world”

The public will be able to experience the process first-hand.

In 2015, Jack White’s Third Man Records unveiled plans to open a record pressing plant within its giant Detroit location. Now the label has released a minute-long video advert teasing its grand opening.

“Something is happening in the Cass Corridor,” reads the announcement followed by shots of the Newbilt presses in action and archive footage from Detroit’s legendary Gold Dollar bar.

Describing itself as “the label that made vinyl important again,” Third Man promises fans the opportunity to “experience the most incredible vinyl pressing plant in the world.” It was previously revealed that the plant will feature a viewing window to allow customers to see the process in action. The plant opening date is yet to be announced.
