Boredoms’ EYE shakes up the spacey yacht rock architecture of Rundgren, Nikolaisen and Lindstrøm’s Runddans album.

After what felt like an eternity of waiting, the Norway-to-Hawaii collaboration between prog maverick Todd Rundgren, space cadet Lindstrøm and shoegazer Emil Nikolaisen, dropped in May this year.

Runddans consists of a single 39-minute track divided into 12 parts, billed by the label as a “spiritual magnum opus” and a “cosmic mix of soul, synth, pop and disco.”

Now Yamantaka Eye of Japanese noise rock band Boredoms has turned his hand to the material, volleying ‘Lind’ into a glass vortex of squelches, shatters, throbs and bleeps. Exclusive listen below:

The new remix 12″ also features works by Erol Alkan and Stereolab & The High Llamas, and is out now on Smalltown Supersound
